Change of Season

Winter is almost knocking in the door, and with the change of the weather my life is changing as well. I can smell the change in the air, donn't know whether it is for good or bad. But yes one thing I am preety sure about that there is a big transformation coming up in life and nature as well.

College..Did it really brought the change?

"Without College..No knowledge"
That is quite a common notion, which i guess has been proved by time. You might be suprised why i suddenly out of blues i am discussing a like which is so well evident. Apparently right now I am passing through the phase of life where on seeing every single thing related to college i get nostalgic. Sometimes while the process of self scrutinization starts what is gained and what is lost from the last four years endevour do come in picture.
Recently I had been in a similar situation. That was probably the last day of working college ( after that exams were going to start). Being the last day, there was ample amount of load of assignments, class tests and viva's in the small shoulders of my hands. While my hands trying to be an efficient Engineer's hand trying to manage the big book, needed for viva, the assignment files and the class notes I somehow along with my umbrella managed to climb down from the clumpsy Autoricksaw. And what i saw in gate suprised me! I saw a big fat girl trying hard to get herself adjusted in the short shirt and trying to beat the summer heat equally since her accessories were too gordy to make her comfortable. Well she was no other than one of my very good friends in first year. And man!! She has changed so much from the girl who was too shy to try out dresses below the ankle and here she is looking a real " hotty", whereas me...well i am still the same girl with little changes in the wardrope and still always in too much hurry to take care of the "feminine stuffs". Why the four years of time brought little or no change in me....Why i still get confused betwee pedicare and medicare hahahaha! :D As my little walk from the insti main gate to the department ended, a junior suddenly called up ' Chayanika madam can you please meet with me tonight, I think i need to discuss about the topic of next year's KVPY with you". And then i realized where i had been busy all these four years, giving no time for thinking about the ladies stuffs and happy i was again as a small kid as if i had won a war and not just a single battle!

Shimla Trip

Trips are one of the most refreshing things that happen to a Civil Engineer of our college. Trips are the time when we have "fun learning" Where it is not just about craming the facts and formulas..where it is more about learning the things going around you...more about managing with odds still making it among the few memorable days of your life, which will be cherished for ever..
There always remain few instances which make the situation lighter..which left us with few memories, recollecting them would always bring a bit of sunshine in our lives...the incidences which made those long painful bus journey (from Delhi to Chandigarh274Km, Chandigarh to Shimla, 95 Km Shimla to Dalhousie,224 Km and Dharamshala to Amritsar) or those freezing temperatures with very less warm clothes, the stale food of Mukherjee ( the tour guide) , Proff Macwan's "I have two daughters and both are girls" stories. The one that topped the chart were, involved me, and boy you could have seen people rolling down, holding their bellies tight:

* We( included me, Prachi, Mayanka, Vimal, Matkeswar & Mahesh) went to a shopping complex in Chandigarh. Imagine a posh area with all branded shops all around you..people having a general talk..and I Chayanika Mitra suddenly realizes that her childhood love of jumping over an empty bottle and getting a squicky sound is too hard to resist even among the crowd...so she jumps and BANGGGGG!!!!! The very next moment was found lying in the floor
Janata's Reaction: Hahahahahahaha...started holding their tummies ( well almost all had one! :P ) Renamed me as "4.75 gms".And the leg pulling....well it is continued till the very date.
PhysicistReaction: An empty bottle is filled with air inside it ; not completely empty...& since the bottle was capped it made the bottle to roll away when a "light weighted material" jumped over it. There is nothing strange about it. :)

* From the hotel to the shopping complex of Chandigarh, we took the traditional Tanga gari to travel. We were 4 people in one ( A single Tanga is meant to carry two average sized Indians.) We sang on top of our voice, people passing by us gave reaction like: Amazed, suprised, hallucinated and what not.
Janata's Reaction: Had so much fun..it sometimes feel wonderful to act foolishly.
Physicist Reaction : Where you the only girl in the tanga?

* Can you ever imagine Chinmay Nayek ( for the lesser informed mortals..let me tell you..Chinu as he is fondly addressed as, is a very loadu guy who has a weird temprament about the fairer sex) And imagine a girl putting flower on his head and he smiling away in front of the camera gave many of the classmates a dash of smile on their faces.
Janata's Reaction : Clicked various photographs. Shared them in lan. Pulled his leg ( For a while the gun barrel was towards his side leave me in peace for sometime.)
Physicist Reaction : The girl who played the prank on him was you..isn't it?Grrrrrrr

* During our trip to Dalai lama's monestry at Maclad ganj near Dharamshala, we met with cute chinki kids. And like every other excited college student.. i took hold of a baby and tried clicking pics with her. Ankur from no where came in the frame too and then started the flow of comments.
Janata's Reaction : A 5'2'' mother, a 6' tall dady and a chinki child :O Kya gajab family hain ye...
Physicists Reaction Shut up!

There many other such instances, where a pic of mine with shopping bags were commented as " baba blackship have you any wool" or the helluva fun we had during the dance party night ended with a lighter mood..As we come to the end of our four years journey together..I certainly would like to suffer those night outs before submission, the tension of getting in the list of short attendees or the innumerable effort for "jugar" of the sheets before SDD submissions to get back these four years...Well as my train journey was ending in S3 of golden temple, dated 19th of March 2007 with a black bloody lump on the left side of forehead ( I got hurt badly while changing seats..) I stood still near the door of the train..feeling the wind on my face, the touch of the ten rupees note which gave Rajan gave me as a good luck sign.. scanning the events of the last ten days of the trip and missing each moment badly, suddenly a man from the back called out " Behenji pleaseeeeee kudnaa mat" :O
